We are very proud that a representative of the Association Novi put is part of the Eurochild Children’s Council for its new two-year mandate. At Novi put, we strongly believe that children and young people must have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their lives, and that their experiences and perspectives should be at the heart of policies concerning their rights, safety and wellbeing.
Prevention of all forms of violence, abuse and exploitation starts at an early age – through awareness, education, empowerment and creating safe environments where children can speak up and be heard. This is why meaningful child participation is so important, and we strongly hope to contribute to Eurochild’s work in strengthening children’s rights and protection across Europe.
The Eurochild Children’s Council started its two-year mandate in Dublin by preparing for two upcoming conferences during the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 and met with The Ombudsman for Children's Office.
They discussed, among other topics:
- The importance of child participation in decisions that affect them;
- The rising discrimination and racism towards migrants, Roma and travellers across Europe;
- The need to incorporate the UN Charter of children’s rights into national laws;
- AI, online safety, gaming and social media platforms;
- War and conflicts and the protection of refugee children;
- Mass tourism affecting services and housing for local families.
The Children's Council will take part in Eurochild’s advocacy, governance, HR and communications.
